IS DESSERT STILL WORTH IT IN 2026?
Everything feels more expensive right now.
Groceries. Petrol. Rent. Eating out. Even the little things somehow don’t feel quite so little anymore.
So it’s understandable that people are thinking harder about where they spend their money.
We’ve noticed it at Drizzl’d too.
Compared with last year, we’re processing fewer individual customer bills. Interestingly, though, our average bill is considerably higher, and once revenue is adjusted for inflation, we’re sitting remarkably close to where we were last year.
To us, that suggests people haven’t stopped treating themselves.
They’re simply becoming more selective about what feels worth spending money on.
And maybe that’s where dessert still has a place.
Going out for dessert doesn’t need to mean an expensive night out. It might be Hot Ball Doughnuts shared between friends after dinner. Churros on a first date. Gelato with the family. A milkshake after a terrible week.
Sometimes the value isn’t just in what’s on the table.
It’s the hour you spend talking to someone. The catch-up you kept postponing. The reward after a long week. Or simply having something to look forward to.
At Drizzl’d, we’ve always believed we’re selling more than dessert.
We sell the feeling of reward.
That feels particularly relevant in 2026.
When money is tighter, people naturally become more deliberate about where they spend it. That means businesses have to work harder to make the experience worthwhile too.
So, is going out for dessert still worth it?
We think so.
Maybe not every night.
But sometimes you don’t need a big celebration or an excuse.
Sometimes getting through the week is enough.
Yeah, you deserve it.
